Very proud to present my term 1 capstone project for the Game Art course at Vertex School. This is my first time modelling something that was not a character so it was a bit of a challenge and learning curve (kept it simple for this reason), but I thoroughly enjoyed every step of the process.
This Selena Vega 215 transistor radio was made in the USSR around 1986 when the iron curtain was still dividing Europe in to two separate areas from the end of World War II in 1945 till the end of the Cold War in 1991.
The Radio was modelled in Maya, baked in Marmoset Toolbag, textured in Adobe Substance 3D Painter, posed and lit in Unreal Engine 5 as well as rendered. The table is from Megascans (Quixel Bridge) just to have something for the radio to be presented on.
I would like to thank my fantastic tutor Andrew Baker, a very patient teacher bursting with great advice and enthusiasm who helped navigate my understanding of 3d modelling in Maya and Unreal as well as expand my knowledge of Substance Painter and modelling in general.
